Description:

Capsule preparation of PANTOCID DSR CAPSULE is available in the market. It is prescribed to treat gastrointestinal complaints. Further dose, direction and duration should be followed as prescribed by the physician.

Uses / Indications:

Usually prescribed in Treatment of following conditions: Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), Heartburn due to hyperacidity, Inflammation of food pipe (esophagitis), Peptic ulcer.

Interactions / Warnings:

Drug-Drug Interaction: Pantocid DSR CAPSULE may interact with certain class of other medication like:

blood thinner (clopidogrel, warfarin),
antifungal (ketoconazole, voriconazole, itraconazole, posaconazole),
Anti-HIV drug (atazanavir, nelfinavir),
iron supplements,
antibiotic (ampicillin, rifampicin),
heart medicine (digoxin)
Anti-cancer drug (methotrexate)

Inform the doctor if you are taking any of these above mentioned drugs before you start taking Pantocid DSR capsule.

Drug-Food Interaction: Pantocid DSR CAPSULE are contraindicated when taken with along with certain food like

Working effect ofPantocid DSR CAPSULE is found to be decreased when St John's wort plant is taken along with the medicine, St John's wort plant is used as an antidepressant.

Drug-Disease Interaction: Pantocid DSR CAPSULE should be not given in patients with below mentioned diseases such as C. difficile induced colitis, liver disease, bone fractures, low Vitamin B12 (anaemia), low magnesium (hypomagnesemia).

Side Effects:

Headache, Diarrhoea, Nausea, Abdominal Pain, Vomiting, Flatulence, Dizziness, Arthralgia (Joint Pain). Difficulties In Breathing, Allergic Facial Swelling, Severe Dizziness With A Very Fast Heartbeat, Heavy Sweating Blistering Of The Skin, Acute Kidney Injury, Yellowing Of The Skin, Fever.

How to use:

Take the medicine in the appropriate dose and direction as directed by physicians. Take the medicine one hour before the meal. Take it as whole, swallow it with an ample amount of the water, do not chew, crush, or break it.

How it works:

PANTOCID DSR CAPSULE composition is made by combining two ingredients namely DOMPERIDONE-30MG and PANTOPRAZOLE-40MG. Domperidone effectively blocks the action of a vomiting centre (chemoreceptor trigger zone - CTZ) located in your brain, that is responsible for inducing the feeling of nausea and vomiting. It also acts to increase the movement of food through the stomach and the digestive tract more quickly and in this way reduces the feeling of bloating, or fullness and indigestion. On the other hand, Pantoprazoleacts as a proton pump inhibitor and acts to reduce the stomach acid by blocking the actions of an enzyme. Damaging tissues in the food pipe, stomach, and duodenum are prevented by inhibiting the proton pump in the stomach wall.
